Students will be learning Processing, a Java based language, and Python this semester. Projects and grading will be different in this course. The syllabus for Honors Programming II is on the right. Overview Honors Programming I Computer Programming I is an introductory programming course. It is designed to introduce students to computer science and the process of problem solving, planning, coding and refining computer programs. Visual Basic, a powerful object oriented programming language, is taught in this course. It is a programming language that is taught in colleges and used in the business world. Grades: Tests 50% Programs 25% Classwork/Homework/Participation 25% Materials:
Programs & Tests Since there is little homework for this class, you will be expected to spend your class time working on programs. There is rarely “down” time. You may be given as many as 8 programs to write within a given time period. This is not as bad as it sounds. Most of the programs at the beginning of class are short. You will be expected to work when you are in this class, especially since you are getting honors credit or it. If you play games when you have work to do, points will deducted from your grade. There will be tests for each topic or chapter covered. Tests will have 2 parts, each worth 50 points. The first part will be written, and the second part will be to write a program. Requirements:
